U.S. stocks dropped over the course of Thursday trading session as Wall Street indices ended the session lower.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Dow 30 ended the day down by -286.5 points or -0.86% lower to 33,127.74. While ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Nasdaq closed lower and down by -58.93 points or -0.49% to 11,966.40 and ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ S&P 500 dropped -29.53 points or -0.72% lower to 4,061.22.

Investors seem wary ahead of key data in the coming days as there were no major U.S. economic news in the last 24 hours.

In the upcoming event, we may expect high volatility ahead of Nonfarm Payroll Employment to be released at 8:30am on Friday (New York Time). Economists are expecting lower forecast compared to previous report.

What happened lately

– USD Nonfarm Business Labor Productivity in Q1 preliminary estimate dropped to -2.7% compared to previous figure 1.6% (revised from 1.7%).
– ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ In the week ending 29 April, the Initial Unemployment Insurance Claims rose to 242K compared to previous figure 229K (revised from 230K)
– ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Goods and Services Trade Balance in March exceed forecast and improved to -64.2$ compared to previous figure -70.6, revised from -70.5$ in February

Wall Street Top Gainers, Losers and Active Stocks

Top two gainers in the last trading session include Arconic Corp (ARNC) as the stock surged 28.29% to 28.93 while Arconic Corp (ARNC) added 28.29% to 28.93.

Losers include First Horizon National Corporation (FHN), erasing -33.16% from its share price to 10.06 and Paramount Global Class B (PARA) dropped -28.35% to 16.40.

Elsewhere, most active counters were Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD), First Horizon National Corporation (FHN) and Tesla Inc (TSLA) to name a few.
